Comprising of various members of the Winnipeg ska and punk scenes, The Sub City Dwellers successfully combine the best aspects of both genres. Reminiscent of Rancid and Op Ivy at times yet they can even do justice to Dub with 2 enjoyable stabs on the style on this EP.
New Solution is a definite dance floor filler and 1st and 55th ave is a great sing along for any occasion involving spirits. I like the rough edge feel to their sound on all the tracks. Something that is hard to maintain in studio while keeping the sonic integrity of the tracks listenable and viable at the same time.
I'm looking forward to hearing more from Sub City. After this 2nd EP, a full length disc would be a dandy treat!
