The Aggrolites - Reggae Hit L.

Reggae Hit L.A.

I have had this album for a few weeks now and still I am having a hard time listening to anything else. Hands down The Aggrolites have to be one of the most solid reggae bands out there right now. While I found their first album uneven and the second album much stonger this third album cements their place in the scene as the leaders of the soul revolution. The instrumentals still beg for horns but Roger Rivas pulls out some 80's synths sounds that don't suck...although some purists may hate it.

Jesse Wagner as per usual brings the sweet soul music. Check out Faster Bullet which has such a sweet melody it almost hurts to listen to it more than once in a day. Original drummer Korey "Kingston" Horn is back behind the kit after being absent on the last recording and it sounds like he never left. His playing style is a little less flashy than Scott Abels but the boys have never sounded more comfortable on record before.

Stadout Tracks: Faster Bullet, Reconcile (TESTIFY!), Reggae Hit LA, Left Red (guest horns show us a glimpse of what could be), Free Time, Fire Girl

Really the whole album is jut rock solid. Gospel testifying, soul stomping, love making, booty shaking music. Really there isn't any reason you shouldn't have this record.
