Skavenjah - Light It Up

Light It Up

It romps.

It hooks.

It grooves.

Regina's Skavenjah has finally made the disc I've been waiting for them to make! They've re-emerged from some huge lineup changes with a fresh, solid group direction that is still well entrenched in the ska. "Light it Up" has all the right dozes of ingredients. There's solid vocals, tight likable horn arrangements and a finely crafted mix both production-wise and songwriting-wise. From the catchy pop feel of "Rewind" to the acoustic hummer "All I Need", there's not a dud in the dozen tracks. "JC Superska" immediately becomes a fave due to its familiar refrain yet the other tracks will grow on you just as fast and before you know it, you'll be tapping and singing along too.

Skavenjah has managed to make a fun, interesting disc that announces proudly that prairie ska is now on the map! Now is the time to wake up, turn it on and Light it Up with Skavenjah!
