Grossman's Crackdown
This is the night that Grossman's cracked down on the underages that attended these shows. Lots of complaining didn't save their fate.
Newfie Ska Comes to Toronto...
The Idlers were a great band. They brought out a lot of people. Only real beef with them is that they showed up late (Newfie time maybe?), and played longer than they were suppose to, delaying the show quite a bit.
The Lunateers also brought out a ton of people, and played quite well. Can't really go wrong with an 11 piece band covering The Skatalites mixed with your own tunes.
The Rudy Dubs had a slightly different set up this time around. I forget specifics about their set.
Not many people stayed around for Frankie Foo, as it was getting quite late, but those that stayed enjoyed themselves.
Mustard Plug
Stop Drop n' Skank opened the show. They have really come along since I first saw them. With their hard work, they definitely earned their opening spot for this show. They got the crowd moving.
Next up was The Johnstones. It had been awhile since I had seen them. Not much as changed. They are still up to their antics, which works well with their fan base.
Mustard Plug has been around for a long time. Much longer than I have been into ska music. This band has a plethora of good material from being around so long, and their live show proves it. I don't think I have ever been disappointed after seeing this band.
