Ska, Rockabilly, and Jazz
First up was Conroy Quintet. They did a few covers which I recognized. They were fairly decent. Unfortunately, the vocals (on the few songs they had vocals) was far too low to hear. I will have to see them again to form a better opinion of this band.
Next up was The Greasemarks. They are a band of three music elitists that put a lot of pride into their work, and it obviously shows. If you ever want to see a true rockabilly band perform, this is the band to see. They were incredibly talented. If their tunes didn't get your foot stompin', nothing will. Leave your hair grease at home, these three have plenty to go around.
To finish the night was the band that I had come to see, Sound One. A ska authentic band hailing from Toronto/Burlington. I had been fortunate enough to see these guys before, and although great, this time seemed to be better than the last. I'm not sure if it was the line-up changes, or the set list changes, but probably a combination of both. I wasn't the only one enjoying them, as the dance floor was absolutely packed.
